Social Enterprise in Health & Social Care sector

Context
Mainstream community, voluntary & third sector organisations are increasingly embracing social enterprise to consolidate & extend their services & operations & strategically positioning themselves to sustain services, operate in & take advantage of the competitive contracts and commissioning culture & processes.
The emergence of social enterprise in the Health & Social Care sector is a growing & important development offering new opportunities within contracts commissioning & funding processes.
However, social enterprise and opportunities associated with it remain untapped by BME community & third sector organisations, with few BME organisations incorporating social enterprises or consortium based approaches as vehicles to secure grants or contracts and to address inequalities in Health & Social Care particularly within BME communities.

Advice & Information event for Carers & Older People
Find Out About Personal Budget & local Support Services

ASHRA is organising an Advice & Information event for Carers looking after people with disabilities particularly older people. Our event will provide advice and information on:
* personal budgets, how to access personal budgets, your rights to services etc
* getting support in the home to help you look after someone you care for better, take a break from your caring duties,
* looking after your own health & wellbeing etc
* local services & organisations that help carers & older people and health & social care services
PROGRAMME
11:00 -11:30 am Registration & Tea Coffee & Lunch Booking
11:30-12:00 noon Participative YOGA session
12:10-13:00 pm Presentations on direct payments and personal budgets
13:00-2:00pm Lunch
2:00-2:30 pm Entertainment (music and dance performance)
*Advice & information stalls will also be available for one to one discussions
