Provision of Respite Care and Support for Asian Carers looking after elders in London Borough of Ealing.
Commissioned Services
ASHRA is commissioned by Ealing PCT to provide a flexible and culturally
appropriate respite care service for Asian carers looking after infirm
elderly and older people with disabilities. ASHRA adopts a preventative and
rehabilitative approach whilst alleviating the stress that carers experience
in their daily caring roles and responsibilities.
ASHRA prioritise those in greatest need e.g. elderly living alone,
with long term illness, disabilities etc. and provides respite care in
response to two levels of priority namely:
* intensive, urgent or emergency respite or
* preventative and rehabilitative focus to prolong the ability of
the cared for person to remain in their home with the assistance of their
families.
Respite Care
ASHRA
Ealing delivers 400 hours respite care per month under its contract with
Ealing PCT with carers receiving respite care support which includes:
* supporting isolated elderly people whose carers do not live with
them.
* providing culturally sensitive support to carers and their
families.
* preventing hospitalisation or admission to residential care
* emergency care and support to carers who are unaware of services
that exist.
* supporting carers who have double caring responsibilities.
Quality Care Commission Inspection Rating
ASHRA
